third blog

It always feels like the end of an era.. of sorts.. And by that I mean when I get through a series on Netflix.. i felt that way with One tree hill.. And I really feel that way with Friends ::

This series I watched when it was originally on tv and got me through some fairly dodgy times at a time when I really wasn't sure tomorrow would dawn a lot of the time.. But the last season was not my favorite by any stretch either when it was originally on nor this past few days.. I "binge" watched the last three episodes, I'm not  a big fan of binge  watching any show..   mostly because of the investment in the characters.. Originally I was going to watch an episode a day, or night.. and I put the end of the series at around Labor Day weekend give or take.. Then I went with watching two a day and that set it to end around Memorial day.. which is about what it was..

Damages (season one) was one of those shows that I had to binge watch originally when I got it the first time a few years back.. It was on disc, but this time I watched it on Netflix and the first season was slimy but got better.. A lot of twists and turns.. Season two was even better, and the final of season two was worth the price of admission.. Season three is so far not nearly as good as the first two, but that will likely change.. I am watching this series one per night, and will stay the course until the final two when I binge the ending..

Other series that I am watching currently the experimental Betwe3n.. Why a three in there?? Beats me but Netflix is doing something they have never done before, they are releasing this show at one show per week.. That is a risky move on their part seeing as how they have released every show of a series at the same time on everything else they have produced.. I watched the first episode, it felt rushed a bit.. Episode two was released on the 28th, so I watched it last night.. Episode three will be next week sometime.. it's an interesting show.. kinda.. But it has the feeling of Under the Dome in that the town "Pretty Lake" is the only place it is happening.. Far fetched?? I'd say so..

Grace and Frankie is the new sitcom with Lilly Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Martin Sheen..  Really a pretty good show..

Other shows I am still trying to get through are Cheers, Frazier, Coach, Third Rock From the Sun..  Hope to make it through those shows by summers end, but then I said that last summer..

My mower, my friend, my enemy..

Leaving town today I saw a guy out mowing his lawn and just caught the mower out of the corner of my eye. IT'S AN ELECTRIC...  Not that I could hear it, those are almost dead quiet.. The orange colour was the dead giveaway... Yep, it's a Black & Decker model... What model is this??  Full on orange makes it this one here...:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002YK4V0E/ref=psdc_4543152011_t3_B002YK4V04

How am I sure??  It is electric but not corded, a battery powered mower??  The cord was not visible, why use a battery powered mower, his first mowing??  The grass was twice as tall as it should have been, or he had the platform way too short.  I had mine set almost as high as it would go the first mowing of the season. Setting it lower would be a bad idea.. Second this guy had it set to mulch.. A second bad idea, the setting was too short, set to mulch and mowing at a fairly quick clip..  and when we returned this afternoon the grass wasn't done.. and it looked like shit.. The battery ran out of juice or the mower burned up..   Yeah our mower has a cord but I won't have to buy a new battery next year or in two years.. The attraction of an electric mower to me is to NOT have to pull the rope to start it.. Call me a wuss all you want but when these arms hurt that's all I can think of.. The guy was pushing his mower too hard, the grass was too tall and likely it was too wet as well.. This was around ten this morning, I mowed yesterday at one in the afternoon, you still treat the mower electric or gas the same way.. If it is too wet, don't mow.. Grass too tall raise the platform..  I've read reviews where people like the electric mowers but there are shortcomings to them.. to me a battery operated mower's shortcoming is the battery life per mowing.. I would need two to mow our lawn completely.. Maybe even three batteries.. The battery operated tools should be the weed wacker, maybe even the blower.. Because when the mower runs  out of juice and the lawn is still halfway from being done it means waiting until the battery charges in eight or more hours.. By then I'm out of the notion.. Everything I have is corded, mower, weed eater, blower and the tiller.. Not for GREEN reasoning but because the gas powered versions are .. gas, and that is fine but I've messed with all those gas versions and when I am ready to mow, I plug and go.. No changing the oil, cleaning the air filter..   Ready to go??  Go..

to the end..

Ok, yesterday's entry about issues pertaining to planting grass, put to rest today with some sprigs of new grass coming out.. Ten days later, "WE GUARANTEE THIS GRASS WILL GROW"  well some of it is growing happy days.. The question I have, sites that I have looked at have all said mow the grass as high as you can, meaning the highest setting.. But my question is with the grass so tall won't watering it take more water to get through to the ground??  I will try to mow it at the highest setting, but I did do this four or five years ago and the weeds that are supposedly being choked out by the tall grass grew with no issues at all..

And now this is in the news fairly strong..

Leave it up to John Oliver to make this happen and I have little doubt that he was the reason the FIFA soccer (football) is finally being busted.. Quite possibly the most corrupt sporting event with the Olympics being a very close second and I have little doubt that we will hear of the Olympics being investigated as well for the same exact thing..

The great late night institution that is David Letterman retired last week, after doing his show for some 30 plus years..   I remember watching the shows on NBC and then CBS and shortly after 9/11 I lost interest in his show, but have watched the better bits on YouTube..

When he had the kids on in various clips it was really him at his best.. Quick wit he had.. This was him at his best..

A lot of people think it was his political stance that made some people stop watching.. With me I moved on, and in fact the last few years I have started watching other shows and really didn't watch any of the late shows at all.. I watched shows on the Roku more than anything else..

In an interview he had done before his final show he had said it was time for someone else to do this show.. (maybe that was John Stewart leaving the Daily show shortly as well) and that he was losing touch with the fans.. And truth is he might be (or they both might be).. John Stewart is burning out, I'd love to see him move towards something on Netflix truth be told.. It has been quite a year for shows like these that I watched with John Oliver moving to HBO, Stephen Colbert going to Dave Lettermans time slot and show.. John Stewart leaving.. Going home.. Then going somewhere else once his kids and wife boot him out..

I would blame the weather..

It would be easy to blame the weather I mean.. it is the weathers fault.. Seriously, I learned to not plant anything before Mothers day and then before Memorial day.. And though I was able to mow with the new mower, I would have had an argument with the old mower because it would have struggled first with the height of the grass and then how wet it was the first mowing, the second mowing was wet but not as long and the third was just wet.. I have tried to recover the grass in the back yard, several places are nasty looking with the front section being spotty but seems to be recovering on it's own.. The spot grass seed that I got last week stated to NOT plant if the temperature was not above 70 degrees.. This I didn't read and I would have thought it's over 70 degrees, easily it was over 70 degrees.. The idea was to plant this seed and then let it get water naturally by way of rain which we got plenty of.. But here a week later the grass isn't showing any signs of growing.. Too wet, and no sun and ... too chilly..

I usually plant tomatoes in the Earth box by Mothers day/Memorial day.. And the reason is the weather.. Last Tuesday we had snow.. and a frost.. And the local Walmart the plants got nipped by the frost.. We are up against the time right now.. Except that we have planted around Fathers day before it is scary to do, everything will be about a month behind.. The idea to have about a dozen tomatoes in the old pumpkin patch is gone.. The pumpkin patch will be.. the pumpkin patch again, only this year I will use water sparingly, unlike every other year when they got too much water.. They dissolved and when I saw one of the reasons being getting too much water, I figured it was too much water, as I turned off the water in mid August and hoped what I had would survive the remainder of the hot weather. it then turned off cool in September.. Cool and wet..

More tomatoes will be grown this year, but only three varieties.. Roma, for salsa, hopefully.. Container variety, if I can find them, I wanted them last year but they weren't what I had.. And a cherry variety.. for mom..  And pumpkins, sunflower and possibly corn???   Tricky shit to grow... And all of this to be done before the first of June.. Alrighty then..

When in Spain..

I'm not about to say bad things about the Roku in any way.. People if you want a new way to watch programing on the tube, buy a Roku or any other streaming device and enjoy how great tv can be.. What I will say is that eventually all the lower priced or free programming that is there will be all paid.. It might not happen very soon but it might very well happen.. Why?? Why would I predict this?? Well there are channels on there that have identical programming as others that some have a small price tag.. Money $$$  for that.. Trouble is when you look at the programming on this channel and that.. They are identical.. Why would people pay for something they could get free?? Well ads on some of the channels.. I've said this before, I think, that the commercials on channel/apps such as Popcorn flix or Crackle happen at the oddest times.. In fact the commercials could happen during dialog or an action scene and when you come back they either move the scene back a little or forward a little.. This is no big deal.. Or maybe it is.. Some of these channels can let you watch these movies ad free for a $.99 price.. (ninety nine pennies).. Which isn't at all a big deal but I've never gone that route before..  The strange part of some channels have to be linked by way of the computer.. They send you an activation code, a link code thing and then it works identical to Crackle which doesn't have a link code.. So how does that work?? Same thing as other channels I think. Any channel that is that way I don't keep.. A new channel that was added is called Sesame Street Go, and just like HBO Go it costs to activate.. What I don't like about the Sesame Street channel is they make it sound like it is free, then you want to check out a program and they want you to activate it by way of using your email acount, which is no big deal, then they have the prices screen shows.. umm.. no. NO THANKS.. For a low price of $4 for a month, that isn't bad but.. If you can't even check what is on or the quality then.  No..    Other channels you have to have a cable system that is supported by the channel to see it.. We don't and likely never will be on that list.. But when you think about it.. Why would you be wanting to go that route?? People are trying to leave cable tv, why would you get cable tv to get channels that you leave cable for??

Borrow from someone who has a dish/directv account.. That is what these channels are forcing people to do.. Hell I tried to do that with my brother but when the channel wasn't very good quality wise, or more to the point our internet wouldn't support the channel..

The best part about a Roku is you can have about as many channels as you want, there are no tiers to buy.. You get channels that you identify with.. Try a channel, see if you like it, if there really is nothing you like.. delete it.. then try it again later.. or don't it is quite up to you.. It's something I do, they have a NEW channels section and I will get it, try it and if it is worth a second look, I'll keep it.. If I don't look at it in a certain amount of time, I delete it.. Good enough.. Get it?? Do I understand. Do you?? I think I did this entry in another form.. Oh well good way to waste a bit of time isn't it..

What's on the telly..

I will admit, this weekend was a little odd in my viewing.. For one thing some of the movies I watched were test watchings (viewings) in that I watched only a few minutes and then opted out, some I had seen but watched anyway..

First off.. I hate to call a documentary a classic, but a movie like "This Is Spinal Tap" is in my books a classic.. That isn't what this movie is.. This is called "Supermensch: The legend of Shep Gordon" Shep Gordon was (is) the original manager of the great rock group Alice Cooper, and he was responsible for getting Alice to break world wide, eventually.. And something I never knew was Shep also managed a group I really liked, Pink Floyd..  Well for nine days anyway.. A very good documentary...

Open Water 2 Adrift.. I saw this movie somewhere.. I saw the original where the couple went out with a tour group and did some scuba diving, and got left behind and were just out there, no help in sight.. Well Open Water 2 is about the same thing, these people go out for an afternoon of fun on a nice little sailboat, and they all go into the water for a swim without one little thing.. A way to return to the safe confines of their boat.. And then the fun ensues.. This was one of those movies I saw before although not from the very start, so I watched up until the numb nut tries to grab the flag and it shreds under his fat ass weight.. Idiot.. So twenty minutes in I shut it down.. I don't need to see these idiots drift apart.. literally..

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.. With Robin Williams a great little movie, and knowing his apparent state of mind this was one of those movies that it's hard to tell if we were watching him contemplate through his character.. Hard to say.. A comedy worth a look see..

I had seen this one but opted to watch it anyway.. Mission To The Edge of Space.. Felix Baumgartner as he went high than anyone ever has before.. Free fall from the highest altitude ever.. I saw bits of this before but thought I would watch it anyway..

Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage.. This one I had seen almost all of but opted again to watch it.. Rush is one of those favorite bands, although I never really followed them in the early days.. A trio (three piece) band, ultimately the type of band anyone wants to be in.. The very basics of drums, guitar, and bass.. Eventually evolving into keyboards but always remaining a three piece band..

Another test but not watched (yet) was K2: Siren of the Hymalayas .. I started watching just to see if I had seen it before.. I haven't but did see a dramatic documentary type of movie on this..

Monster.. With Charleze Theron as a nasty looking street walker ..  This movie I started three weeks ago on anothe channel/app and then went to finish it and it was gone.. So rather than finish it then, I waited in hopes that it would make it's way back to the channel I started it on or at the very least on another movie channel I have.. Turns out yesterday I went to that channel and found it listed again.. Last night (early this morning actually) I woke up at about 1:30 with the worst headache and couldn't get back to sleep so I went in search of something to watch and I clicked on the Popcorn movies channel.. I waill be honest, these "free" movie channels are attractive for being free, but they really aren't free.. You have to sit through commercials to see the movies or whatever.. That's ok if you have no way of getting Netflix or whatever.. I always feel funny watching a movie on anything except Netflix but. This movie isn't currently on the Netflix channel.. Bummer I know but.. So I watched this, with one eye closed hoping the sleep monkey would pounce on me and knock me out.. Had to listen with the volume turned relatively low.. But it was a pretty good movie even at that..

what's on tonight??

So whaddaya watchin' now.. This weekend saw a hodgepodge of movies and in fact there has been a lot of stuff I've started watching as well as just trying for maybe watching later or.. whatever.. First the movies this past weekend..

Texas Rangers.. Really an older movie but it's hard to call anything that was made in the early 2000's very old but when you think about it.. That is fairly old at around 15 years or so.. With Ashton Kutcher in it before his 2 1/2 men years..  right after his That 70's show.. The movie is set in 1875, a decade after the Civil War ended. During the war, the Texas Rangers had disbanded to fight for the Confederacy. At war's end, they were not reformed and the Union Army was occupying Texas, charged primarily with defending the State from Indian depredations. In the movie, the Governor of Texas asks Leander McNelly to form a company of Rangers to deal with the banditry along the Mexican border. Most of his company of Rangers are young men, orphans for the most part and a smattering of veterans of the late war. Their prime target is the bandit King Fisher who is stealing cattle, burning ranches, raping, looting, pillaging and otherwise breaking the law.

Bowling for Columbine which is only partially about the Columbine massacre.. It is more about America and our obsession with guns.. There are points in the movie where Mr. Moore takes a look at the United States obsession with guns and violence and takes the crew to Canada and talks to people there and they have about as many guns as here, they just don't have the fear drummed into them like we have here..

A little clip from the movie.. This pretty much sums it all up..

The Marilyn Manson clip as well.. I'm not a fan of his music by any stretch but he has a point here..

House Arrest is a cute little movie from back in '96..  Mostly about trying to get their parents to stay together.. Kids do the darndest things and really the kids don't understand that mom and dad are likely tired of the daily routine.. But isn't that what they signed up for??  Truth is kids cause more divorce than anything really..

Now for the shows I am watching in one form or another.. Damages, I had this on disc a few years back and had to "binge" watch the show that way.. Truth is I didn't likely get into it as well as with watching it the way I am now with one episode a night.. at least one a night.. I dislike the way the show was going but as it gets closer to the end of season one it is getting good.. I was going to watch from season two but decided to watch season one what with it being a few years since watching it and that it was a binge watching session..

Royal Pains is back on the Netflix.. A favorite show.. Drop Dead Diva as well, not a very deep show but sometimes it's nice to watch a show that is more like cotton candy than anything else.. Hart of Dixie is the same way..

Daredevil is a current show that is on Netflix only and I am really getting into it.. It's a comic book story and I don't usually get into those kinds of shows.. But this is really different and really interesting..

My lawn mower review

Lawn mower review??  Yes I got one.. FINALLY after talking about it for the past seven months give or take.. Got it.. And the winner is....::::::

The Black and Decker MM2000 13 amp 20 inch deck.. So I went big, or about as big as electric mowers can go.. I think, and it isn't size that made me go this route.. Everything about another mower had me wanting .. :
They look a little alike except the deck is 15 inches which isn't why I decided against it.. Everything about this lawn mower had me sold that this was perfect for us.. Then  I read a review that said "THIS MOWER WILL NOT MULCH"  which is to say it will not .. well.. mulch, there is no plug to place in the grass catcher chute  and as well there is no grass side throw.. The MM2000 does three, side chute, mulch and grass catcher.. 13 amps (some people would be turned off by the unlucky number 13.. that's my favorite number).. But as the day was coming for the mower to get here there were questions that came to my mind one of which was the 13 amps and would our electricity be able to have that much pull on it.. Turns out that was the least of the issues.. The big issue, and I read all the reviews before buying this, was the one that appeared the day before it arrived and I have it here for you to see, the only three star review, and I had to see what bad thing there was to look forward to, here it is, from the Amazon review of the MM2000 :
Great Mower, Flimsy Crucial Parts

 Verified Purchase
Arrived last week, and was excited to get mowing. Very easy assembly with just the handle bar adjustments and nothing more. Easily adjusts cut height, and does an excellent job cutting overall; I have only used the bagging accessory so far.

However, during the first time using it, the hook connecting the starter cable to the handle bar, that you must keep compressed to keep the mower running, snapped in half. Mower won't remain running as the cable just slips out, unattached.

Bad part quality? Definitely. Can be easily fixed with tape. Looks a bit janky, especially being brand new. This part really should be a much stronger material as it's crucial to the mower remaining operable.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And so that I worried about over the last 24 hours until I got the mower.. Well upon opening the mower I thought so what is this part and how advanced in technology is it, is it too far advanced for me to figure out.. Well I unboxed the mower, got it all set up and the only thing I could see was the plug in area, there was a white thing on the plug in.. Took my handy dandy multitool out, pulled on it and snap.. Aw.. Awe shit.. I broke it.. Then as I pulled on it some more it was the plug in protector.. You know the thing to keep the plugs from bending in transit.. So then I found the part that was broken on the review above.. Pissed me off that it was broken  but then I realized that it is so unimportant to the mowers operation that I thought, why was that guy freaking out.. My fix was.. Well there is a cord holder under the on/off control section and you put the cord in there and it holds the supply side, where to most tension is on the cord.. That was it??  Why did the guy freak out?  Why did I worry about it at all??

On with the review... After getting it and setting the handle and everything  the moment of truth.. Hows  it run?? Well last week if I would have had the mower on the day I wanted to start mowing it would have been the 4th.. The 5th it rained, so did the 6th.. The 7th is when the mower arrived and that morning it had rained and looked like it might rain all day that day as well.. By noon I felt the lawn and it seemed dry enough to at lest try.. When I started to mow, I used the grass catcher and set the mower one click from the highest.. Every site I have checked for how high to mow the lawn it says mow at the highest setting.. I went with the next to the highest level.. The grass catcher didn't catch much grass initially.. Why?? Two tries and I found out I didn't have it on there right.. But then it still took a long time to fill.. What was the deal now??  I then set the level down one click.. That must have done the trick, that bag filled three times in the lower section of the yard.. The front was a jungle but that mower kicked it like there was nothing to it.. 13 amps is a huge difference.. The other mower was 6.5 amps.. it was nice but that grass that day would have been too much, too tall and too wet.. I filled the lawn wagon five times with clippings.. That is the greatest news.. Last year I would mow the lower section short to rake the clippings and fill the compost tumbler. Don't need to torture any of the lawn anymore.. I wasn't after a grass catcher but after thinking about it I thought why not get one with that option.. On the other mower with the grass catcher only I didn't like that.. I like to mulch the grass as well.. And the grass chute thing, side grass discharge, it is really cool, it doesn't just open and send the grass flying, it sends the grass into a cup design and that means the grass comes out and into a windrow type of idea.. Makes retrieval of the grass (raking) easier if doing that is your number one idea.. This mower might make me lazy (er) ..

Badge Henry

(P.S. Would I recommend this mower to anyone?? Hells yes, but do realize that it is electric and electric isn't for everyone.. Mine has an electric cord on it.. It is like being tethered to the house or electrical outlet.. which I have three sites around the house with one being in the middle of the front yard.. The cord is the fuel of the mower, and it can be a pain in the ass but it is so much easier to maintain, no gas, oil, nothing like a gas mower.. The shed smells like a shed that doesn't have a gas can in it...)

(P.P.S, So which mower came in second?? That's easy.. The 1800 model, aka last years model, or the model before the one I got.. Number three would be a tie between the Sun Joe Mow Joe.. Long name for that one, yes I was impressed with it.. The thing I wished we could have done was find a place that had a large selection of mowers of all types.. It does appear however that gas mowers are still the mower of choice, and the reason is likely that they are the mowers everyone thinks of when they think of mowing.. How do you change from the old gas to electric of any kind.. Well as I have said, for me it is physical ability, both of my shoulders have popped out of the socket and I know from watching two of my uncles get surgery on them that you should change the way you do things. I don't need the things to pop out regularly for me to say i should have stopped doing what caused that.. Everything we have is electric, mower, blower and tiller.. that's life..)

Too think as well

Ok then.. Alright.. The question can be asked, WHY DO YOU (I/me) keep looking at mowers here three days after ordering the one I ordered, without even trying it out yet??  Well the truth is the last thing I got, the tablet (the RCA tablet) shit the bed within ten days of it being opened.. And the truth is I wanted to order the mower back in December/January but the same reason I came up with as to now why I didn't order it.. I thought there was a chance the world might end.. But no the conspiracy theorists were WRONG AGAIN.. So I ordered one last Thursday, actually this last Thursday, the final day of April.. I was going to get it Last Monday instead but was wanting another sign and also I wanted to check e-bay.. And kept forgetting.. Hopefully this mower will work but you never know.. Everything about it screamed buy me.. So I did.. The older model is now 56 dollars more expensive.. That shocked me because most of the time just as sure as shitting I get something like this ordered and the price drops like a stone.. Friday I am looking at a video of lawn mowers and they are reviewing them, and the one named E-GO gets top marks but the Black and Decker comes in a very close second.. This was a battery operated mower and although battery is the way a lot of people are going, it's charge lasts for just over an hour.. And I need at least an hour and a half, not so much because of the size of our yard but because I like to mow the yard well, I don't sprint mow..  So I checked the mowers again and will likely look until June or July.. You know at least until the new mower smell wears off a little bit..

This weekends movies were..
The November Man with Pierce Brosnan..   He rarely makes a stinker..

One Small Hitch with Aubrey Dollar, what a cutie she is.. this movie was very predictable.. Did I write it.. No, I don't believe in love...

For The Bible Tells Me So.. This movie.. I have to say I come down on the side of doubters when it comes to the bible.. I tend to not believe most of the Bible mostly because it really is more of a book of fables and tall stories.. That's fine and all but when you start to rule a nation on what that book says.. That's when I get pissed, and the republicans tend to read only the parts they like to rule by.. truth is I'm not for the gay lifestyle for me personally but I don't care who does what behind closed doors..

For the Bible Tells Me so got a rise out of me to the point where I couldn't watch but maybe the first ten to fifteen minutes before switching it off.. I don't want to watch shit like that, and to me to waste time on that when I know I have a to watch list that has over two hundred shows to watch.. Life is too short to waste my time on certain things..

With that being said .. ; GMO OMG was about the same feelings only on a different scale.. Where religion is a relative unknown, or a ruled unknown, GMO, or Genetically Modified Organisms is in most of the food we eat.. Read a label on any drink and it will sat corn syrup on it.. That is GMO, as is just about and food..

I have to say I am waking up at night with worries about how everyone is going to be ok.. From the earthquakes in Oklahoma to other parts of the country that never used to have them.. And with a well going in withing a hundred miles of us here they will be storing fracking water in there, and I was afraid the drinking water would get contaminated (which it will, that's just a gimme) but then the threat of earthquakes and there's just another thing to worry about..

Oh well, there's always walmart for your water needs..

Two titles

It's May first, and with that comes a change in mentality towards watering and other things having to do with lawn and gardening.. The pumpkin patch was covered with leaves and the old pumpkins that were carved for Halloween, mostly for the seeds.. and Tuesday I checked by way of tilling to see how it might look.. That was the deepest amount of leaves I had in that section and it turned over extremely well.. I won't turn it all over, not right of way anyway.. Also Tuesday the area by the gas meter got turned over.. With the idea of planting that as tomatoes or..  maybe just reseeding as grass.. Don't know which way to go there, that area is really hard to keep the grass green, and might be equally hard to keep tomatoes green as well.. I'll try to keep that tilled until memorial weekend then either put tomatoes in there or reseed to grass.. The section of the garden by the ally might be tilled all summer, till it every week, and try to keep that from getting weeds taking it over like it has been every year for the past five or six years..  The pumpkin patch will have as many as three tomatoes in there, as well the Earth box will hopefully have the container variety tomatoes that I wanted last year but couldn't get, this year they will either be container, or roma.. variety and two of each to see if they support each other rather than cross pollinate..  Over all we had around nine tomato plants last year.. Might have about as many this year.. Hey speaking of lawn care, you need a lawn mower to do that and the decision was made earlier in the week and then acted upon.. yesterday.. Well we went looking for an electric lawn mower yesterday in a town a little ways away.. Of the four stores I looked for one at, Home Depot, Walmart, Sears and a mom and pop hardware store, all of them had no electric lawnmower.. The saddest part of that statement is that if there are any people that believe in going "green" then the stores that are there that don't have any are not giving true choice in the matter.. Reasoning for not having an electric lawnmower??  I think the feeling that you are mowing your lawn with an electric lawnmower is equal to vacuuming it.. For me the aggravation of everything a gas mower has to offer is overwhelming.. That and my arms being the way they are.. So what model did I settle on??  The old Goat model 3000..  Just joking, actually I got the Black and Decker 2000... The latest model.. Also with the grass catcher I think people were turned off that most electric mowers didn't or couldn't have grass catchers.. They do now and after my first mowing with the grass catcher on I will let you know how it works.. Now we ordered the mower from Walmart dot com and could have gotten it cheaper from Amazon except that .. Well it would have only been maybe five dollars cheaper.. Maybe not, the reason I went with Walmart dot com was because we can take it back to the store (I think) and they can figure out how to send it back, rather than us going to the local UPS shipping center at between the hours of ...  and ...  on days the moon is in the sky at  an arc just below 75 degrees left of the right ...    It's no fun messing with returns with UPS, it's why more often than not I just burn whatever it was that needs to be returned..

TV shows ended this past week or so.. Burn notice ended interestingly, it's always interesting to see how they end series.. I never looked up to see if some shows were cancelled or were actually ended.. Burn Notice ended.. Same as Fringe, it ended although the final season felt like it was only related to the rest of the series in that it had the same people as the first seasons.. the final season was kind of disappointing but was still good enough. And then there was One Tree Hill, just ended that Wednesday night with a three episode binge watching.. Not really disappointing finish, the show really ran it's course and if I were to watch it again I would watch until the graduate from School and no more than that.. So where do you go from here??  I decided to watch some shows that are short and will end by the end of May, with shows like Friends that I started just after the first of the year and will watch to the final by the end of May (I think that is the timing) and Cheers and Frazier,  and Coach... Get those shows wrapped up by the end of May.. Then start  a longer series. Show like Damages and Friday night Lights.. or at least try them..
