Tomato hunting

The pumpkin in the tree.. Turned orange quite literally over night recently.. And that means it is in it's final stages of development... One of the last entries I wrote here about having troubles with them rotting on the vine.. I had read where too much water can cause them to rot on the vine.. Not enough calcium will cause vine rot.. Then this past week I read where if they sit on the ground they can rot that way, and to move them a little.. So I had some boards around the area but they went quickly and i was left with well now what do I use.. And there it was staring me in the face.. The branches from the wind storms we had four and two weeks ago.. I cut them up and used them to try to lift off the ground.. Hopefully that will help..
The blossoms on that Moby grape variety tomato are starting to grow up the fence as was hoped for..
Tomatoes in the gas meter section are starting to turn.. And they are very good.. Very tasty indeed..

The vines in the yard.. both growing towards the fence and...
..this one was headed towards the trash cans which would have shut the back off completely.. But that cluster of hell trees were blown over and so access is still there.. But the pumpkins are now growing towards where those tress were..
This pumpkin on the rail ties by the ally growing area..
Here above and below are the Caspian pink variety tomato, growing in a planter I'm not sure how good of an idea it was to have it there and now after two weeks ago being given the "whatfor" by the wind and tree limb damage I will be happy for anything..

Here by the trash cans there are several pumpkins setting on.. My though was the vine might grow to the shed and there might be a pumpkin or two setting on on top of the shed.. Which could ruin the shed but.. maybe not..

By the shed, trashcan area.. These are growing really well..
This one right here above was about the size of the one that rotted and I picked it and tossed into the compost tumbler and have been giving it a ride for the past week or so.. Hopefully it will turn to compost by the 26th because that is when I figure this batch will be done.. Very interesting to watch the compost turn.. I've never had it do this before but then I never paid that close of attention to it see as I would turn it once every now and then rather than once every day..
This one right above was yet another that turned over night.. I didn't know it was still there.. I thought it was the one that was rotting.. IT WASN'T and I'm glad it didn't..

The magic number of pumpkins is...  Well I hate to say the number currently setting on.. The number with boards or wood of any kind trying to make them live is 15.. There is close to twice that many setting on.. And of course the two that are nearly done...  What a season, hu??  Next year.. pineapple trees.. or.. mangos.. No wait...  pine apple trees.. No wait.. BANANAS...
