The sun goes down (odds and ends)

Well the smoke and haze is here from the northwest fires.. I passed on last weeks photo op but thought I'd give it a shot Friday night.. And last night as well.. This is from Friday night..

And then I started messing with the camera.. Different settings producing the next few..

The elevator  was fairly dramatic but.. I should have gone out and gotten more shots..

The moon was just as dramatic a few hours later.. We are headed for a full moon shortly that should be fantastic as far as getting great moon rises..

The thermometer for the compost tumbler.. This shows at close to 140 degrees.. I should have gotten a shot from the day before, it was 150 degrees and the instruction manual says it can get up to 180 degrees.. That radiates the weeds so they just become compost..  Supposedly..
This is Saturday and I was really excited to go out and get the shots that I went out early (around five) and it would be over two hours before the drama started.. But it wasn't that great.. Well until later that is ...

Driving to get to another place I noticed the sun through the trees and tried to get a good shot that way..

The "home office" always adds a lot of dramatic shots.. Same here with a smokey sunset..

These last couple or so .. Well these were caught in the sun visor there at the edge of the top of the windshield.. That little strip of blue there acted like a nice filter..

Nephew Ryan enjoys  a little upsidedown tv watching this morning..

Pretty rough on a Sunday morning..

Well as far as the garden is concerned the drama of the pumpkins is really letting up as now the vine sprawl isn't as impressive.. They have pretty much completely stopped with the sprawl.. Having dogs run through the patches at least once a weel for the past three will do that.. Now I'm just hoping they will get done..  One pumpkin popped off the vine when I was checking all of them to see if any were starting to rot.. Had to store it in the front by the porch to hope it is cool enough there to keep it from starting to rot.. It will be in the 90 degree range for the next ten to 14 days.. I'm ready for summer to be OVER..
