So the process started about a year ago, when the homepage on my Firefox browser got changed without my permission after downloading and indstalling a program from a software site.. It was the first time I noticed a program installed bloatware, and from that day on I would watch what I clicked instead of assuming everything I would install in the future was on the up and up as it were.. But when the homepage was changed I had trouble getting it changed and when it wouldn't go back the way I wanted it, I went in search of a better homepage.. Anyway the homepage I had was just the Google search page which means there was nothing more than the search box to start with.. I was wanting a new home page and I looked for one.. Came up with four, MSN, Bing, Yahoo and a new idea called I-Google.. Intrigued I gave the I-Google a shot and was stunned at how personalized I could make it.. In face it could be exactly the way I wanted it.. The "gadgets" could be added to perfection as every idea there was is presented and I added to the point where it took quite a while to see every aspect of the page.. For Three months I messed with it and then stopped adding and subtracting gadgets and settled with everything..PERFECT.. And then in March a little notice on the header of the homepage that read simply "I-Google will discontinue as of November 1 2013"... Up to that day I thought his was too good to be true and truth be told I wasn't very happy with the homepage.. What is great about it was I could access it from any computer, just type in my account info and there it was.. But the worst part about it was every Gadget draws memory and so on the laptop I would literally have only the homepage open and struggle with it because it almost maxed out the RAM from that only.. No tabs could be opened.. I was looking for something else and switched to the Bing, MSN, Yahoo homepage trio idea but then I was messing with the Opera browser and it has a speed dial setting and I wondered if Firefox did.. Turns out yes it does and I set it up to have everything I want on it and set it to be the starting point (homepage) and move on to all the immediate sites right off.. Things couldn't be any better..
The start of December last year saw me trying something new... The RSS reader.. This took an effort to load all the pages that had a RSS feed, I went through every bookmark I had and every site that had an RSS feed that was part of the I-Google homepage as well.. I think it took through February to get them all set and loaded to their own folder, the pages that had multiple feeds were all put in a folder without any want to check if they had the same content on them.. Then after setting that as finished I went through and got used to using it.. Everything was good.. Between the speed dial and the reader I can access nearly three thousand pages.. So what could possibly be the problem?? Too much of a good thing..
Last night I checked a few of what can only be called dead sites, sites that don't or haven't updated on RSS in over six months.. Some were added even though they were dead at that time of being added.. So now I have decided to edit these down a bit.. I figured if I don't read the sites or haven't in the past nearly year since getting them that they more than likely won't start to get looked at suddenly.. I remember when I added all these how I could be able to read this for years without looking at the same thing twice.. Is that good?? So many that aren't interesting to me now might have had an interesting article when I added them, only to never be looked at again.. Where these came from?? for the most part a good lot of them came from Facebook as a site would put a link to the story and I would add the RSS and twitter and Facebook.. Then I was doing this I thought add as twitter or Facebook or RSS but not all three.. Plus the Facebook timeline I look through the majority of.. Twitter has gotten too massive to do that with, and is getting to the point where I don't look at that much.. Then there is Reddit and other sites like that.. I click through the entire 25 front page to see what has a RSS reader.. That might continue but I do need to sort through all the RSS feeds that I currently have and delete what I haven't looked at since loading them in the first place..
Entertain me:::: I was looking at the Tube yesterday (YouTube) and am just so totally amazed at the amount of programming that is on there.. It is the reason to stream via Roku (I know, they don't have an official channel on there).. Just unbelievable..
So it is supposed to get cold shortly hu?? Good.. I was just remembering that last year about this past Tuesday I had to take the car down and get new tires on it.. We had a little snow on the ground and twenty below zero temperature.. I remember taking the car down and talking to the guy about the tires and then him offering me a ride but I said no, there was not even a breeze and I can walk outside and do all sorts of things in subfreezing weather and it doesn't bother me.. I could have as well easily not been wearing a coat, but people tend to think you have something wrong with you when you don't get all heavy coated up.. Then later that morning I went and picked up the nephew from preschool and first thing he says, can we go to the park?? Granted it had warmed up quite a bit by eleven in the morning but could he play in the park?? He was wearing one of those fleece noncoat things as I picked him up and thought this is fine for now but wasn't it colder earlier?? Went to the park and he tried to swing, gave up.. TOO COLD?? He never complained he just wanted something to eat was all..
