Went to a birthday party earlier today and walked in and saw all these chairs arranged in a circle and I instantly thought "oh shit, this is an intervention, I've never been to one of those.." (geese anyone guess what I've been watching on the television??)
Just got done watching the Nebraska debacle.. Wow holy shit.. Well this is a case where anything that can go right for a team did, and anything that can go wrong for the other team did.. At the half I got on the computer and there was a site showing instant feedback for the effort in the first half.. Needless to say there was a lynch mob mentality towards Polini.. It just goes to show when you win you're great but when you lose you are FIRED!! But I've said it before, if we let him go then we could end up like Colorado.. You have to be very careful, and besides remember Osbourn?? He had so many orange bowl trips where we were the opponent of the eventual national champions.. There was Clemson that one year and Miami countless times.. There were loses to Oklahoma that had everyone calling for Osbourns head.. My biggest critique was the defense.. They played great touch football and did in the UCLA game, can't fault them there.. The other team didn't know we were playing flag football rules.. Speaking of great hits (which we weren't but it's late and I'm tired) that block by Kenny Bell was far and away the best hit of the season and COMPLETELY LEGAL... Everyone on the two radio stations and the television announcers all agreed.. He did launch himself but the guy he hit was going full boar as well, it was blindside but the guy was in a position to tackle the guy with the ball.. Talk about inconsistent calls, several plays later the badgers hit one of our player in the same way and NO FLAG.. Then later the badgers hit Taylor and dropped him on his head and no flag.. They were being criticized by the radio announcers for late whistles ALL NIGHT.. Anyway I would say that the Wisconsin team did run the score up, but that is the key phrase here, they RAN the score up.. Not passes like a certain Miami U team did at one of the bowl games against us.. They ran, and we were much obliged to let them.. But as I put on my FB that I was glad the team lost tonight because they would get their ass handed to them in the rose bowl and I felt that way after watching Stanford play the last two weeks.. At least the Broncos don't lose like that... Oh yeah, that's right.. Remembering a few years back in the McDaniels era when they lost to the dreaded Raiders that time.. That's why when they had a chance to hand the Raiders their lunch the first game I was hoping for a blood bath..
