With and without

It's been a while but..  Here is the latest album I put together..

This is the promotional video for the new Within Temptation compact disc release "Compilation Live" hitting the shelves on December first ...  The song title is "All I Need"...  Now a little back story for this...: For the past year or maybe even two I have had these concerts by Within Temptation and they were (are) YouTube acquisitions and I really like the entirety of all four but there are songs that stand out more than others.. So I would fast forward and try to remember which song was on which concert.. So in the past three months the project started to nag on me to get this idea done or at the very least try it..  A live compilation.. Trouble with a live comp album is the crowd noise rarely if ever matches up.. And so with that in mind is where I started from on this disc.. I checked mostly that at the start/end of the songs to try to match up the crowd noise as best I could.. It never does work completely like I think it will.. But this was close, there are only  a few times it didn't work out.. The shows this was taken from were :"Black Symphony, Black Symphony bonus concert, Let Us Burn deluxe edition (two disc, four concert set)..   The song set is as follows :  track one Dangerous, Dangerous was new to me coming from disc two of the let us burn set... Quite the opening track it sets the tone early that this show is going to be a lot of fun.. Track two Faster, Faster was the big hit off of their latest studio album Hydra..  It hit the top of the charts world wide.. Everywhere but America where the retards rule the scene.. I shouldn't say that but America stays in the rap is the best music in the world mentality, or Justin Bieber is the greatest.. What does he play, what instrument does he play??   That's right.. He doesn't play ANYTHING.. I digress, Faster is the second track and is the best song after Dangerous.. You get the feeling they will all be the best song.. That is what a hand picked best of is supposed to be.. Track three End of the World, a nice slow down from Dangerous speed, and Faster heavy rock sound.. Track four, Restless.. Restless is from the Black Symphony bonus show and is one of those seriously great ballads that this band produces on every record, but restless shows Sharon's voice off right now... Stand My Ground, track five is just as good as you remember, sort of the only filler song on the entire set..   Track six : Somewhere, a return to the ballad side of things.. Duet with Sharon den Adel  and Anneke van  Giersbergen from the Gathering another great duet and the third slower song in a row.. It might seem odd to have these songs appear so early in this compilation but it holds true to the set arrangement from their Let Us Burn album when they hit the softer side of their music by the forth song..  track seven is Angels, another slower song but again another rather huge hit for them..  Track eight The Last Dance, while not a hard rocking track, it is one of those that signals the end of the slow down.. Now we're gonna turn on the jets.. Track nine, Covered by Roses gets things moving again and there won't be another slow song until you hit rewind.. Track eleven Sinead...  What can I say, this one.. Gangster on the loose, tough and sassy... Sinead is a tough..  Silver moon from the Let Us Burn second disc, was really  a filler track but became more, it pushed another track out.. Damn you compact discs for being limited to 79 minutes..  The promise gets things really moving, like you knew after Dangerous these guys can kick it into the high gears without being in the low gears.. No warm up needed..  Mother Earth is track fourteen and is that sound that Within Temptation would be known for and the reason people either love them or really love them..   Finally the track All I Need rounds out the show.. A really nice slow down song with a powerful message, it was why I picked it to end the set.. Not a ballad, it has that first part of KISS "Black Diamond" feel to it but the orchestra really helps make this a very powerful song.. Interesting side not here, the promotional video above isn't the same version used on this album, The version above was from the Black Symphony show, where the version on the disc was from the bonus show, a completely different show all together. How do I know??  Sharon's hair has a dark red streak in it in the video above, where the bonus show it's not there.. Also the version on the disc is much more powerful, they used a chamber orchestra on rather than a full orchestra and vocalists on the main show..

So there you have it.. The album that won't ever see the light of day.. OR WILL IT??
