What's on the telly..
I will admit, this weekend was a little odd in my viewing.. For one thing some of the movies I watched were test watchings (viewings) in that I watched only a few minutes and then opted out, some I had seen but watched anyway..
First off.. I hate to call a documentary a classic, but a movie like "This Is Spinal Tap" is in my books a classic.. That isn't what this movie is.. This is called "Supermensch: The legend of Shep Gordon" Shep Gordon was (is) the original manager of the great rock group Alice Cooper, and he was responsible for getting Alice to break world wide, eventually.. And something I never knew was Shep also managed a group I really liked, Pink Floyd.. Well for nine days anyway.. A very good documentary...
Open Water 2 Adrift.. I saw this movie somewhere.. I saw the original where the couple went out with a tour group and did some scuba diving, and got left behind and were just out there, no help in sight.. Well Open Water 2 is about the same thing, these people go out for an afternoon of fun on a nice little sailboat, and they all go into the water for a swim without one little thing.. A way to return to the safe confines of their boat.. And then the fun ensues.. This was one of those movies I saw before although not from the very start, so I watched up until the numb nut tries to grab the flag and it shreds under his fat ass weight.. Idiot.. So twenty minutes in I shut it down.. I don't need to see these idiots drift apart.. literally..
The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.. With Robin Williams a great little movie, and knowing his apparent state of mind this was one of those movies that it's hard to tell if we were watching him contemplate through his character.. Hard to say.. A comedy worth a look see..
I had seen this one but opted to watch it anyway.. Mission To The Edge of Space.. Felix Baumgartner as he went high than anyone ever has before.. Free fall from the highest altitude ever.. I saw bits of this before but thought I would watch it anyway..
Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage.. This one I had seen almost all of but opted again to watch it.. Rush is one of those favorite bands, although I never really followed them in the early days.. A trio (three piece) band, ultimately the type of band anyone wants to be in.. The very basics of drums, guitar, and bass.. Eventually evolving into keyboards but always remaining a three piece band..
Another test but not watched (yet) was K2: Siren of the Hymalayas .. I started watching just to see if I had seen it before.. I haven't but did see a dramatic documentary type of movie on this..
Monster.. With Charleze Theron as a nasty looking street walker .. This movie I started three weeks ago on anothe channel/app and then went to finish it and it was gone.. So rather than finish it then, I waited in hopes that it would make it's way back to the channel I started it on or at the very least on another movie channel I have.. Turns out yesterday I went to that channel and found it listed again.. Last night (early this morning actually) I woke up at about 1:30 with the worst headache and couldn't get back to sleep so I went in search of something to watch and I clicked on the Popcorn movies channel.. I waill be honest, these "free" movie channels are attractive for being free, but they really aren't free.. You have to sit through commercials to see the movies or whatever.. That's ok if you have no way of getting Netflix or whatever.. I always feel funny watching a movie on anything except Netflix but. This movie isn't currently on the Netflix channel.. Bummer I know but.. So I watched this, with one eye closed hoping the sleep monkey would pounce on me and knock me out.. Had to listen with the volume turned relatively low.. But it was a pretty good movie even at that..
