I would blame the weather..

It would be easy to blame the weather I mean.. it is the weathers fault.. Seriously, I learned to not plant anything before Mothers day and then before Memorial day.. And though I was able to mow with the new mower, I would have had an argument with the old mower because it would have struggled first with the height of the grass and then how wet it was the first mowing, the second mowing was wet but not as long and the third was just wet.. I have tried to recover the grass in the back yard, several places are nasty looking with the front section being spotty but seems to be recovering on it's own.. The spot grass seed that I got last week stated to NOT plant if the temperature was not above 70 degrees.. This I didn't read and I would have thought it's over 70 degrees, easily it was over 70 degrees.. The idea was to plant this seed and then let it get water naturally by way of rain which we got plenty of.. But here a week later the grass isn't showing any signs of growing.. Too wet, and no sun and ... too chilly..

I usually plant tomatoes in the Earth box by Mothers day/Memorial day.. And the reason is the weather.. Last Tuesday we had snow.. and a frost.. And the local Walmart the plants got nipped by the frost.. We are up against the time right now.. Except that we have planted around Fathers day before it is scary to do, everything will be about a month behind.. The idea to have about a dozen tomatoes in the old pumpkin patch is gone.. The pumpkin patch will be.. the pumpkin patch again, only this year I will use water sparingly, unlike every other year when they got too much water.. They dissolved and when I saw one of the reasons being getting too much water, I figured it was too much water, as I turned off the water in mid August and hoped what I had would survive the remainder of the hot weather. it then turned off cool in September.. Cool and wet..

More tomatoes will be grown this year, but only three varieties.. Roma, for salsa, hopefully.. Container variety, if I can find them, I wanted them last year but they weren't what I had.. And a cherry variety.. for mom..  And pumpkins, sunflower and possibly corn???   Tricky shit to grow... And all of this to be done before the first of June.. Alrighty then..
