subject to be determined later..

Glad to be back, not that I was anywhere really.. Since last I wrote here, or the last time I wrote about the internet woes.. If I in fact did, I can't remember.. In case I didn't write about it, here's a brief bit about it.. Last Monday the internet was crap and although I was able to do entries here they were very short mostly because I have trouble concentrating when I'm torqued off a bit.. Anyway our internet was slow.. Slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...  Point 35 on the meter that now reads 10 and higher depending which way you look at it.. I am happy... But that was Monday & Tuesday and my calling our ISP and literally begging for dial up both days.. That was more to give them the idea that our internet was sloww (wwww You get the idea.. ) And then it sped up aand life was grand.. But I was developing issues with the Roku.. Have had an issue with it since just after the Olympics ended.. The channel I got the Roku for was Netflix.. I would say that at the time it was over 90% the reason.. I have since started liking a lot of channels on this little smaller than a hockey puck device but the channel I got it for was having troubles.. Netflix was developing a hic up and this has been going on for .. well since the end of February.. Bummed out this box worked relatively well through the months prior to now..  reasons for the problem; A power surge??  Maybe but our power is iffy at best here in the grand berg of Port of Entry suburb of Butt Bute Nebraska (I. C. E.) (Bull  shit)  ...  Anyway through the week last week I went on the Roku help forum.. The help forum was one of the reasons I went with Roku and would keep me there..  They did try to help, from checking the router to checking internet speed.. Last Tuesday I was talking to the ISP (internet service provider) and they helped with a walk through to fix something.. Was it the router?? They had me ping the router and it was fine.. then he had me run a test elsewhere and discovered that there were some unwanted guests lurking within the computer.. He set me up with two programs to help clean it out but when all was said and done, it didn't help with speeding up the internet speed.. Or did it??  By the time my second scan got done the speed test showed  a marked improvement.. but when I asked on the forum every answer I got showed what I already knew, the computer has nothing to do with internet speed to the Roku.. Friday I set up moms roku with the channels I was having troubles with and the same thing was going on with hers.. What might be the deal then..  I wrote on the forum that I was getting frustrated more and more with the issue of the box not playing all the channels..  Two things then were changed without an answer that was satisfactory.. One, I changed the flow rate from Netflix from the highest to the lowest, and that fixed the stutter an the buffering every twenty minutes.. The second thing happened last night, I went through and checked all the channels to see how many I was having troubles with.. Turns out about ten or so.. Those got deleted.. Then today I got ahold of Roku via I.M. and worked through the situation.. The latest update for the Roku might not have gotten downloaded correctly.. Remember our internet is spotty (the name of my router is DTC ISP: it's on it's off it's on) and might have had one of those split situations where it was off.. Also our power might have dropped for a bit that night.. Usually the update gets downloaded at between 2-4 in the morning..   Long story short (too late)  I set the roku to get the update to the latest update and it seems to be working better now.. Will it last??  Good question.

But that isn't what you came here for today.. You want to see some pictures.. Well here you go.. :

As promised from last Fall in the paper..

The highest Harley Davidson store.. That takes on new meaning there in Silverton Colorado. (wink wink)..

I've been there on that exact road at that exact location, but it wasn't as much snow there when I was there.. Actually the amount of snow that was there would have been...  Well none..

This picture of the "box car" was taken by me in 2006...  I believe it is located literally just up the mountain a little ways.. Not very far at all but I think it is beyond the first turn.. Just..

ON  the Kendall Mountain Road is what the headline should read..

A chilly trek no matter how you go up there.. Another picture shows cross country skiers..  Seriously no thanks..

(P.S. on the roku fix it today, the person on the roku help site (I.M.) gave me a set of DNS numbers that when activated shut the internet off.. That's off as in the big OH EFF EFF and I couldn't get it to start up again.. Shortly after dialing our ISP help desk it came back around and was on.. Freaked me right out needless to say.. The question of  "are you still watching breaking bad, the answer is yes but I keep forgetting to write about it what with the ship sinking and all.. Hopefully I'll get that caught up shortly..)
