Kind of an interesting set of pictures.. The top being the new year being celebrated somewhere, and the bottom being ducklings on a pond that is cracking under the weight of duck excitement.. I hope everyone made it through the holiday season alright.. We got home around midnight, or half past as the gig for my little brother turned out not to be that great.. When you have four bands and their dj system as the closer it was bound to not be that good.. I told mom they weren't going to be happy with the event.. I've been there and done that and nothing has changed from back then to now.. Anyway, as we left town Wednesday morning early we hit rain and it stayed that way all the way home.. In fact it was a general downpour several times on the way home.. Then it would turn to snow later on and then.. We got a skiff, looked like we might get more but it wasn't that way.. Watched the games yesterday including the hockey game through the final bit, and then watched the Rose bowl.. The end of the bowls as they are, with the new "playoff" system adopted for next year will mean the bowls as they are won't be anymore.. that is sad, and with attendance this year being so low, the Gator bowl had a lot of empty seats there, will there be fewer bowls next season?? Doubtful, they have sponsors that like the commercial use of the bowls.. I'm willing to bet the new playoff system will fail.. They keep saying 8 teams should make it.. I say use the four bowls, The Rose, Fiesta, Sugar and Orange to determine the four teams in the playoffs and have the title game be the Saturday before the super bowl.. The week before the super bowl, have the NCAA title game on the Saturday, the pro bowl that following Sunday then the super bowl the next Sunday.. That only makes sense to me..
