The third Tuesday of..

Good idea or not???  Getting mom a Roku for X-mas and I'm not sure how good of an idea it really is.. The truth is shortly after I got mine last year (for Christmas) all I could think was I gotta get her one.. First reason not to get one was can our internet handle two streaming players.. Truth is mine is streaming to the 420p patch cord rather than HDMI which my tv doesn't support even though it is a flat screen tv with HD on the front of it.. Did I get ripped off or what??  Not really, I didn't know what to look for in HD tv's at the time.. Now I do, but don't care.. Mom's tv is an old CRT type which means she will hook into the Roku the same way.. I ran an experiment earlier in the year when I was thinking about getting her a box and ran a movie on the Roku on my tv, downloaded a torrent and downloaded from my favorite bootleg site while also uploading a vid to the 'tube and the movie played fine.. Then there was a glitch with the box, and I talked to Roku help about it and gradually it got worked out..  Mothers day came and went without me getting her a Roku, so also did her birthday.. So now we come to Thanksgiving, and my brother was here and he watched something on his laptop computer and I decided to try a movie via netflix on the roku while also downloading something on my computer.. The roku worked fine, a little slow to buffer but played the movie fine, meanwhile the movie my brother was watching played fine and the thing I was downloading got done with no problem.. That kinda answered weather the internet could handle the two roku boxes, I felt it can or should be able too.. The only way to know for sure is to try a second box which we'll do on the day.. Christmas day.. I ordered it on Cyber Sunday.. Cyber Sunday you ask???  Well they told me this would be the price the entire week, so I ordered it a day early.. What was the price??  $39.99..  I was torn between getting the latest box, a model 2, or going with last years HD which was what I got..  I decided on the HD, the "2"  was $58 and although the latest, the only thing I thought might be worth getting was it has a headphone jack in the remote..  So that's that..   Start that one up on her own account.. Should be interesting to see if she can work it.. There are like five buttons on the remote.. Intimidation is not what Roku is about..
