Video settings and things.. To say the least this time last year I was doing experimental videos all over the place.. What I didn't get then was why the videos I shot with my camera were not working on the movie maker program and then suddenly the program started to work with my MOD files.. And then just as quickly they stopped working shortly after the wedding video was completed.. The past few times I did videos I converted them using the AVC (Any Video Converter) and it took so many trial and errors to get a setting even remotely close to a good one.. The fact that there are what looks like lines on the video when the camera moves was just disheartening for every video I shot.. So much so that today I decided either there would be a codec fix or something would have to give.. After searching for a codec fix and finding none, I went is search of yet another converter.. This time, and you would think it would get easier to find one, I did find quite a few.. The best are likely payfers but there were a few free programs.. One from a site that talked it up, I tried to download even though the site it was on the reviews said it was trouble.. I tried to download it and sure enough the situation that the reviews were talking about raised up right away.. The Vipre program kept me from downloading it.. Too bad, it looked promising.. I got another but it left a watermark on the videos, very unacceptable.. Then my third try would be File Factory, which turned out to be a dud.. Then a little time clicking buttons on the program and I figured it out.. The only thing I had troubles with was getting the setting to be what I wanted and after a few tries I nailed it.. It will convert to just about any screen size which is good but to be a usable file I decided to go 480p.. I can get 720p and 1080p as well but movie maker is best used at the 480 setting.. For wedding videos or anything to be set on dvd I would go higher for full screen greatness.. 480p will be easy to edit and then upload to my YouTube channel.. So it will be a few more days before Sunday's video will be up on the 'tube.. I'm not a perfectionist I just want it to look good..
