Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING screws up your week more than to do something you normally do on a different day.. But it had to be done.. Last Thursday you would have thought the normal day for mowing and not doing that would screw things up.. It was seriously wet, plenty of rain to stop that process.. That was the first Thursday all season that I missed, and I knew I was going to miss it as early as Wednesday because it was wet that day too.. How important was it to mow today, I mean the leaves are still coming down even as I mowed.. They won't be placed in the compost tumbler, in face the final batch was started the Thursday before last.. There was a problem, the leaves out numbered the grass clipping about 70-30% and so the compost action wasn't going on.. Until I put some of the pumpkin goo in there.. Then the old tomatoes that were frozen.. And then today a few bananas and a skin.. The composting action needs moisture and there was really none to be had in there until now.. Next week some of the pumpkins will be put in there, but when there are eleven and they are fairly big, they won't all fit.. I cleaned them out Saturday after the Husker ..... um... And then Sunday with the Bronco's playing bye I got them all done.. Them my nephew will either carve them or mark on them.. His first jack o lantern attempt was (is) Picaso at best.. anyway the leaves were placed on the three planting areas.. The pumpkin patch is covered in leaves.. The ally planter has a good healthy lot there.. The Gas meter planter... That area where the tomatoes were more than anything is where the vines were buried.. So cool to have placed them there and to let it compost naturally.. I've gotten to the point where I would rather bury it rather than take it to the dump..
