This week

A strange three or four movies watched..   Strangely enough I seem to be watching documentary movies and shows more now.. But the first movie was .. A rerun.. Something Wild

With Melanie Griffith and Ray Leota as well as another established name Jeff Daniels, from 1986 this was the third time I've seen this movie.. Actually quite an interesting movie I had this one confused with another of it's type..

Clean Spirit has the potential to be a very good movie but it was what we call a reader and I wasn't in the mood  to read since with the heat of summer I become sleep deprived and was afraid I would doze off during the movie.. It will be watched eventually..

Does this guy look familiar??  He should.. Back in 1983 there was an upstart football league called the USFL and in the documentary Small Potatoes, it was well thought that this league would survive in the spring time slot it was in and it was well on it's way.. But a year into being a league someone bought the New Jersey Generals and then forced his agenda on the entire league.. That man was Donald Trump, and he was bound and determined to make the USFL the new NFL.

Time Zero:The Last Year of Polaroid was a documentary about the demise of the old Polaroid cameras.. These were cameras that would take pictures and develop them instantly.. And the whole concept of how these came into being is shown in this movie.. From the start and up to when they called it quits.. Why were they calling it a day??  Digital technology seems the best culprit but.. It isn't.. When they started to stop production, and people were in a scramble to find film it reminded me of the old beta vcr I had.. Everything about it with the exception that when I was forced to use the other vcr it wasn't that big of a deal.. I wanted to have a vcr to watch all the tapes I had but that wouldn't happen, they just stopped making them.. Just the way it was.. You learn to not get atattched to things and that gets you in the digital age thinking.. With the Polaroid picture system you had an instant picture.. With digital you get an instant file but not a physical product.. There is a difference and that seems to be the thing that is hammered home in this very good and well thought out documentary...
